A beta, honestly
Blu-ray HQ is in early access. Features change, rough edges exist, and we sometimes fix things by hand. By signing up you are joining that, and we are grateful for it. If something breaks, the feedback form reaches us directly.
Your account
One account per person, with a real email address you control. You are responsible for what happens under your login, so keep your password to yourself. You must be 16 or older to hold an account.
Your collection
Your collection, shelves, watchlist and notes are yours. You give us permission to store and display them to you, and to show whatever you choose to make public, so the site can work. You can remove any of it whenever you like.
The shared catalog
Releases, labels and editions you add become part of a catalog every collector uses, the way a record database works. Entries you contribute may be edited, merged with duplicates, or hidden by admins to keep the catalog accurate, and they stay in the catalog after you leave. Add what you know to be true; don’t add entries you have made up or copied from a source you have no right to copy.
Fair use of the site
Use the site as a collector. Don’t scrape it, flood it with automated requests, try to reach other people’s accounts or data, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that does.
Trading
The marketplace is visible but not open: no real purchases can be made today. Before buying and selling between collectors goes live, separate terms covering payment, shipping and disputes will be published, and you will be asked to accept them.
Links to other sites
Some Buy links go to Amazon and other stores. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Those sites have their own terms, prices and policies, and we don’t control them.
What we can promise, and what we can’t
We work to keep the site up and your data safe, and we keep backups. Even so, the service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, and during the beta it may be unavailable or change without notice. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using the site or from being unable to use it. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; the collection export exists for that.
Ending things
You can leave at any time by asking us to delete your account through the feedback form. We can close an account that breaks these terms. Either way, the privacy page says what happens to your data.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it, and a change that matters will be announced on the site before it applies. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
